Clare Cryan showed her resilience through a difficult round of five dives to place tenth overall in the 3M Springboard Final.

Cryan started well, scoring 63 points for her opening dive, a forward 2 ½ somersaults, 1 twist. A mistake in her second dive, saw her drop down the rankings with a score of 33.60. The 29-year-old recovered well with her third dive, scoring 62 points, however, a restart in the fourth-round cost Cryan points and despite an excellent execution of the reverse 2 ½ somersaults after the restart, her points were 39.20. Cryan closed out the competition with 56.70 points for an inward 2 ½ somersaults, a 10-point increase on this morning’s score for the same dive.

Speaking after the final, Cryan said ‘Obviously I’m a bit gutted, this morning was really good, but there’s a lot to take from that and it was a really good final, the girls really stepped it up from the prelims, so to be a part of that diving going on and knowing that I deserve to be in that mix was a really nice thing’.

Cryan is back in action on Wednesday for the 1M Springboard Preliminaries.
