We are excited to announce that entries are now open for the 2026 96th Swim Ireland Dun Laoghaire Harbour Race taking place on Sunday the 12th of July 2026. Race the iconic Harbour of Dun Laoghaire with the stunning back drop of the East piers to one side and seaside town on the other. It is bound to be a great day.
In continuing with the tradition and format of the race, swimmers will be allocated handicaps.
Entries will close at 5pm on Thursday 9th July 2026
Eligibility
To be eligible to take part in the 2026 Swim Ireland Dun Laoghaire Harbour Race:
- Swimmers must hold a competitive Swim Ireland club members or Special Membership (This includes joint Triathlon Swim Plus Membership)
- Swimmers must have competed in 3 open water races hosted by Swim Ireland and/or Swim Clubs which are advertised as part of the Swim Ireland National Open Water Series.
As part of the sign up process you will be required to select which events you have taken part in.
*If you have entered the St Vincents Caulfield and Lynch Cups on the 11th July 2026 when you submit your Dun Laoghaire Harbour , this will be accepted as a qualification swim. Swimmers must take part in this swim, which will be verified.

- Age 9 to 13 (200 m participation event) – Free
- Age 14 to 19 – €30
- Adult 20+ Open/Male and Female – €55

This is a competitive event
Before You Book
- You must be able to swim the distance of the event that you have registered for. Cut off for the Dun Laoghaire Harbour Swim will be 55minutes.
- Due to the nature of Open Water Events, timings on event day are subject to change.
- Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event (except when in the water).
- Open to both wetsuits and non-wetsuit participants.
