Swim Ireland is delighted to announce this initiative, partly funded through Sport Ireland Women in Sport funding. The Regional Women in Sport Coaching programme is targeted at girls and women aged 16 years upwards who are interested in becoming qualified Level 2 coaches.

The programme will be delivered by Swim Ireland Tutors Hayley Burke and Mary Garvey, with support from the Regional Pathway Coaches.

Three successful applicants from each region (12 in total) will receive the following support:

  • Complete the Direct Entry Level 2 Swimming Coach qualification for the discounted price of €399 (normally €699)
  • Receive half board accommodation (breakfast and dinner) for weekend 1 of course in Limerick Saturday 24-Monday 26 October.
  • Receive mentoring support from Regional Pathway Coaches.

Programme requirements

  • Swim Ireland club membership
  • Age on first day of course must be 16 or older
  • Vetting NVB must be in place on the first day of course
  • Safeguarding 1 must be active on the first day of course
  • Available to attend 100% of course schedule
  • Available to attend a minimum of two Regional Programme days to work with Pathway Coaches (see programme dates below)
