Aer Lingus Masters excelled on the first day of the Open Water events at the 2026 European Aquatics Masters Championships in Samorin, Slovakia. The Open Water Relay events took place with Irish Masters taking home three gold and two silver medals.

It was gold and silver for Aer Lingus Masters in the Men’s 4x1000m 240-279 age group as Conall O’Raghallaigh, Peter Conway, Paul O’Niell and Boyd Freeman took gold, while Bernard Boran, George O’Connor, Peter Bonar, and John Ward claimed silver.

Also swimming in the Men’s Relay Aer Lingus team members Andrew Glover, Declan Kearney, Brian Monaghan, Liam O’Gradaigh in the 200-240 age group, finishing in fifth place.

The women’s team also won gold in 4x1000m 200-239 age group. This was achieved with a team made up of Charlotte Reid, Cara Mulcahy, Sarah Farrelly, Johanna Galvin (Aer Lingus).

It was another first and second in the mixed 4x1000m relay 240-279 age group. Winning gold was a team of Boyd Freeman, Francisco Flores, Cara Mulcahy, and Dymphna Morris, while Declan O’Sullivan, Anne Morrissey, Bronwyn Cummings, Bernard Boran bagged silver.
