Water Polo History Made at the NAC

History was made in the Sport Ireland National Aquatic Centre on Sunday when the Ireland Water Polo leagues were played in the full size 50m pool for the first time.

Head of Clubs, Community and Competitions, Adam Cox said “Momentous occasion for water polo in Ireland, with the first ever National League fixtures taking place in the main pool within the NAC. In an effort to help rebuild the sport after COVID and make it much more of a spectacle within the NAC, it was hoped the league fixtures could move into the 50-metre pool. This has been a great partnership approach between the Swim Ireland, The National Water Polo Committee and Sport Ireland Campus and a huge thank you to everyone involved to make this happen.”
