Our Swim Ireland Club Support Officers and Regional Pathway Coaches are based in the region to provide a direct line into Swim Ireland and to offer on the ground real time support to our clubs and regions.
Clubmark aims to introduce uniformly high standards of governance across all clubs. We’ve introducing more ways to become a member also to suit different audiences.
Our special membership with our partners in Triathlon Ireland allows access to open water and masters events. Associate membership allows teachers and coaches not affiliated to a specific club to avail of the insurance cover, and Me and the Water membership offers a packed benefits programme for leisure swimmers.

Vetting/Access NI is required when acting in a role within a Swim Ireland affiliated club, region or national committee. Please find link here to the application forms and associated instructions.
Renew Annually
Club Membership
Club members renew their Swim Ireland membership annually through their Club. New members are welcome to join Swim Ireland at any time during the year through an affiliated club. All new members must complete and sign (including parent/guardian for under 18’s) a membership form for the Club. The club secretary will then register you with Swim Ireland.
Special Membership
The Special Membership category allows individuals the opportunity to become a Swim Ireland member and compete in specific events previously only open to club members. To compete in any of these races you must enter the race separately through the race organiser.
Ireland's newest membership
Me & the Water Membership
Swim Ireland’s newest membership options offers leisure swimmers a chance to become part of a passionate community, and avail of a range of benefits, all designed to improve your Me and the Water time.
This membership option is ideal for those who love the water and swimming, but aren’t competitive and don’t feel ready to join a swimming club. It costs just €10 per year and you can find out more details at the link below.
Individual Insurance
Associate Membership
Swim Ireland qualified Teachers or Coaches can avail of individual insurance by becoming an SI Associate member. Associate Membership (Teacher/Coach insurance) is paid annually, due in the month of initial registration.
Swim Ireland administer the insurance scheme on behalf of the Institute of Swimming (IoS). New members may join at any time of the year. Associate members are given free non competitive membership of a Swim Ireland Club – please apply separately through the Club you wish to join.
