We have an exciting opportunity for volunteers to be part of the first ever LEN European U23 Swimming Championships being held at the Sport Ireland National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown Friday 11th to Sunday 13th August 2023. We are now looking for volunteers to support the event from Tuesday 8th August to Monday the 14th August 2023.

This is an amazing opportunity for volunteers to be part of a historical moment on the Irish sporting calendar in 2023. We are seeking a broad range of volunteers to ensure that the Championships run smoothly and will be remembered as an event that we can all be proud of. There are eight volunteer teams that individuals can register to work within. The volunteer teams and approximate dates needed are:

• Accreditation 9^th – 13^th August
• Accommodation 8^th – 14^th August
• Ticketing 10^th – 13^th August
• Event Operations 10^th – 13^th August
• Athlete Services 10^th – 13^th August
• Transport Services 8^th – 14^th August
• Team/Guest relations 8^th – 14^th August
• Venue Operations 9^th – 13^th August

The LEN U23 European Swimming Championships will welcome more than 40 nations, to Dublin to compete over 3 days of intense competition. We anticipate seeing some of the biggest swimming stars coming to Dublin, from World and European record holders to Olympic, World and European medallists amongst the 600 expected athletes. There will be two sessions per day comprising more than 300 races with around 40 finals.

Speaking on the Volunteer Call, Swim Ireland Head of Clubs and Competitions Adam Cox said “This year Dublin gets to be part of aquatic history, as it hosts the inaugural European U23 Swimming Championships. This is a very exciting time for sport in Ireland, and we are calling on all volunteers within and outside the Swim Ireland family to help us deliver a truly memorable competition. This is a massive undertaking, and we will need supporters of Swim Ireland, swimming and sport in general to make this a competition one to remember. We urge everyone to get involved and be part of this exciting opportunity”.

• Monthly update on the plans for the event
• Selection and notification of your volunteer dates (by end of April)
• Two volunteer training days (July)

Some volunteer roles may regard further training and/or vetting checks – you will be notified of this in good time.
