Streaming Details Announced for 2023

As hopefully most of you will be aware, Swim Ireland has for the last number of years been delighted to be able to provide access to a streaming service for many of our National competitions across a variety of disciplines. We have been extremely fortunate that World Aquatics and Sport Ireland have provided grant funding opportunities which has helped us invest heavily in providing this streaming opportunity across the multiple national competitions.

To date, we have received really positive feedback, through post-event surveys, about the standard and high level of our streaming while ensuring our competitions are accessible to all around the world. Now that this initial seed funding support is no longer available to us, we need to consider other options to seek to ensure that we can continue to provide this level of service to you at the high level at which it delivered to date. It was evident through feedback from the recent McCullagh International that streaming was missed, and we want to keep the quality of this service and to continue to bring it to you. In order to do so therefore, we have made the difficult decision to introduce a paid service which is in line with what many other governing bodies both in Ireland and around the World are offering and we hope that you will help support us in this regard.

We have been delighted with how many people have viewed competitions through our YouTube channel across the past four years, and this is a further opportunity to gauge the appetite for live streaming and we hope that you will continue to enjoy the service provided.

We have reviewed competition feedback, streaming services, other sports organisation and price points and have made a decision that a nominal fee will be charged for streaming, through a paid service platform, to help us to continue to deliver a high quality service. This is standard practice across most sporting bodies delivering high level streaming.

We will be piloting the following costs for competitions for the remainder of the 2022/2023 season:
