To all Swim Teachers, Assistants and Lifesaving Instructors!

With summer approaching, we start to see more cases of water related and drowning accidents across the Ireland, UK, and abroad for anyone going on holiday.

Your work plays a vital part on drowning prevention. In this message, myself and the team just want to say THANK YOU.

Thank you all for your hard work and commitments that deliver fun and engaging lessons. Your work contributes to the following across all age groups and abilities:

• Delivering Fundamental and Core Aquatic Skills that give children and adults the ability to learn to Swim, Float, Tread water and much more; which enables people enjoy the water safely.

• Educating the different elements of water. Such as sea tides, currents, river flows and more. This provides your learners the clear knowledge to knowing the dangers around them.

• Learners reacting to dangerous scenarios that quite literally saves their own lives or others that are in distress of water.

Your work throughout every year makes such a huge impact to our nation. Your teachings help avoid having another child and adult being a statistic on drowning.

#Remember, every lesson you deliver, you are quite literally saving lives… you are heroes!

RLSS UK have put together FREE activity cards that will hopefully help give you some inspiration around educating drowning preventing week. To access the cards, simply click on the link below:
