The inaugural LEN U23 European Swimming Championships is due to take place in The National Aquatic Centre, Blanchardstown, Dublin from 11th-13th August. Swim Ireland have been appointed as the Local Organising Committee for this unique and exciting event, where we will see some of the World’s elite and leading young athletes compete for medals.

Swim Ireland have a fantastic opportunity for volunteers aged 14-16 years old to get involved in the event as athlete kit carriers. The role of an athlete kit carrier is to carry the swimmer’s kit from the starting blocks to the kit collection area for each race.

The following points are what is required and included in the role:

  • Be aged 14-16 years old.
  • Attendance for the three days of the event, Friday 11th– Sunday 13th August, for both heats and finals.
  • Be available for training the day before the competition commences (Thursday 10th August) for approximately 2-hours.
  • You will receive uniform and accreditation for the event.
  • Food and refreshments will be provided each day.
  • This will be a fast paced and rewarding experience where you will be part of delivering the first ever U23 Championships and get to meet some of the worlds best swimmers.
